Cougar Snapshots: spring scrimmage

Last Saturday, the Cougars of BYU put on a show at LaVell Edwards Stadium in front of about 7,500 fans. Total Blue Sports photographer Troy Verde was roaming the sidelines to capture all the action in this edition of Cougar Snapshots.

Once again the defense didn't allow any points scored. One reason is because of a more experienced defensive back group lead by strong safety Daniel Sorensen.

Sorensen covers slot receiver Dallin Cutler.

Sorensen cuts inside Cutler as the ball arrives …

… and knocks the ball way for a pass break up.

Sophomore cornerback Cameron Comer breaks up a pass intended for x-receiver Cody Raymond.

Fullback Iona Pritchard takes off running as middle linebacker Uona Kaveinga closes in.

Pritchard cuts back and eludes Kaveinga.

Pritchard gets past both Kaveinga and Tyler Beck before being stopped.

Freshman wide receiver Mike Edmunds makes a catch.

Sophomore Brett Thompson makes a catch down the sideline and takes off running.

Running back Adam Hine gets through the line of scrimmage just before left defensive tackle Ezekiel Ansah tackles him from behind.

Ansah was, one again, a handful for the offensive line. Here he is going up against Ryan Freeman, who was playing right guard.

Senior defensive back Mike Hague hauls in an interception.

Hine breaks through the line of scrimmage, where Seth Probert waits for him.

The two collided and Hine had to be helped off the field.

Dallin Cutler goes up for a catch over cornerback O'Neill Chambers, but Chambers ends up forcing the incompletion.
