Daniel has BYU visit set

BYU is currently looking to bring in another boundary corner and a possible free safety prior to the 2013 season. Cornerback Roberston Daniel from DeAnza Community College in California will be making an official visit to BYU this week.

This week, Robertson Daniel is set to go on an official visit to BYU. The DeAnza Dons' star defensive back is excited about what might lie in store for him once he steps foot on campus.

"Yeah, I set up a visit to BYU for this Thursday," said Daniel. "I'll be out there from Thursday to Saturday for an official visit. I'm really excited to get out there and check things out. I'm pretty excited to check out some of their practices while I'm there."

With the season-ending injury to Trent Trammell on the first day of spring camp, the Cougar defensive staff is looking to shore up the boundary side. Daniel – who totaled 90 tackles, six interceptions and 13 pass breakups during his junior college career – could be the answer.

With a date set, Daniel is counting down the hours and minutes until he heads out to Utah.

"Yeah, it's kind of like waiting for Christmas," said Daniel with a laugh. "I can't wait to get out there and check things out. It's exciting."

The 6-foot-2-inch, 200-pound Daniel is open to committing to BYU should the opportunity arise.

"Yes, if I receive an offer from BYU when I'm there I'm going to commit to them on the spot," said Daniel. "I'll go ahead and commit right then and there."
