“I have 10 offers since committing to UTSA,” Shorts said. “My commitment is still open. I want to get around and see where else I could go possibly.
The 6’2”, 195-pound prospect, who runs a 4.5 forty, laid out his top 3 schools and why each school makes the list.
“My top three schools are UTSA, Kansas, and Utah,” Shorts said. “Kansas is in Big 12 so it means big competition. UTSA offered me first so I respect that. Utah is big competition in a big conference (PAC 12).”
BYU has entered the picture with Shorts but it appears that the program will need to pick it up to really enter the sweepstakes. Shorts explained what he knows about BYU.
“Honestly don’t know much [about them] but I know they are a Mormon school,” Explained Shorts. “I know it is a good school though. They’ve been pretty good over the past few years. I have seen them [play] on TV a few times. I like their uniforms too.”
What are the chances BYU stands in landing Shorts commitment?
“Honestly, I don’t really know since I haven’t talked to them much but I will definitely keep them in mind,” Said Shorts.
Shorts caught 34 passes for approximately 400 yards and 2 touchdowns as a junior in a season shortened due to injuries in 2013. He’ll be looking to have a bigger season in 2014 as a senior for Atasocita High School. TotalBlueSports.com will continue to monitor the recruitment of Quan Shorts and report on any developments with regards to BYU.
