Fehoko Recaps BYU Unofficial Visit

Brighton High School’s Simi Fehoko recently paid a visit to BYU where he took in a BYU’s victory over Houston on an unofficial visit. He recaps his experience, talks about what he enjoyed most, and much more.

On a day of remembrance and patriot flare to honor our men and women in uniform, along with those who lost their lives for in the twin towers on September 11th, BYU hosted the Houston Cougars at LaVell Edwards Stadium. In attendance to witness the fireworks and pageantry was Brighton High School wide receiver prospect Simi Fehoko.

“Oh, I loved it down there!” Fehoko said. “The atmosphere out there at BYU is absolutely incredible. The fans are amazing and it’s loud and exciting. I just loved it and it’s great out there.”

Fehoko and a few of his fellow teammates from Brighton and other local high school prospects attended the Houston game.

“I went to Houston game with a bunch of other recruits that were there,” said Fehoko. “I went with Cody Barton, Jackson Kaufusi, Robbie Hutchins, Sione Heimuli-Lund, Britain Covey, Devin Kaufusi, and [a few other guys].”

Brighton defensive back Cody Barton riled up the Cougar faithful when a picture of him making a sign representing rival Utah surfaced on twitter. However, despite the good natured jab, even Barton mentioned to Fehoko that he had a good time down at BYU.

“All the recruits loved it down there,” Fehoko said. “Even Cody Barton [who is committed to the University of Utah] said it was intense down there and [he] loves it out there.”

The game ended with a 33-25 victory for BYU over Houston. One of the highlights for Fehoko was being there to take in the ambiance of LaVell Edwards Stadium with his friends.

“[The highlight] was probably being at BYU with my friends from school, who are also BYU prospects,” said Fehoko. “It’s just awesome and a great atmosphere. I just love it there.”

Aside with being with his friends at a BYU football game, Fehoko also enjoyed watching BYU’s pre-game warm ups from field level. Overall the night was a good one for one of the top prospects in the state of Utah.

“I liked watching the team warm up on the field prior to the game,” said Fehoko. “I thought that was pretty cool. I liked watching Jordan Leslie out there, he’s the man. He’s probably one of their best receivers right now. Watching him play was pretty cool.

“Overall it was just a cool experience,” Fehoko said. “The game was good, the fans were great, and like I said, the environment was great too. It was a good night all the way around.”
