Friday Practice Canceled Due to Lightning

BYU head coach Gary Crowton canceled this afternoon's (Friday) practice because of lightning strikes within three miles of BYU's practice facility.

Practice was already 30 minutes in progress when the close proximity of the lightning strikes caused Crowton to take the prudent measure. Initially lightening was reported 20-25 miles away, but within minutes, lightening struck within two to three miles of the facility.

The afternoon practice was the afternoon portion segment of the Cougars first two-a-day practice in fall camp.

Practice will resume again tomorrow (Saturday), beginning at 9:50 a.m.
