Tanner Jacobson Happy to be a Cougar

BYU defensive back Tanner Jacobson has a last name that's familiar to BYU football fans thanks to his older brother McKay Jacobson. He talked one-on-one with Jake Hatch about his decision to transfer to BYU, how he's enjoying contributing on the field, and what he makes of Michigan State.

Tanner Jacobson saw significant time playing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders as a true freshman in 2012. He departed on an LDS mission fully intending on returning to Lubbock after his mission service concluded. He said some influential people in his life asked him to reconsider and think about going to BYU instead. He did so and he said being at BYU has been a blessing in his life. He's now contributing in the Cougars' secondary and says he's enjoying being on the field. He said that Michigan State will pose a significant test this Saturday but that he's excited to get out there and play the Spartans.
