In preparation for Saturday's much anticipated match up against Air Force, Crowton said that running backs Thomas Stancil and Naufahu Tahi may be the most frequent combination in the Cougar backfield.
He said Reynaldo Brathwaite is experiencing problems with his knee and Marcus Whalen continues to have difficulties with his foot. BYU will be playing without Taufui Vakapuna for a second straight week because of injuries.
One position Crowton wants more efficiency and production from is the inside receiver slot or the FWR. "I really need the inside receiver to step up and make some plays. David (Christensen) was playing well there, but we don't know if he'll be there, or how much he'll play, because of his separated shoulder."
Christensen is probable for the game, but Jason Kukahiko is still questionable with an ankle sprain.
With Vincent Xanthos, Eddie Keele's back up at left tackle, out with a shoulder injury, Quinn Christensen will see time subbing for Keele.
Crowton confirmed that starting quarterback Matt Berry will be back for the Colorado State game.
"Colorado State will be the game he'll be ready to play if everything goes well. I want him to be aware of what we're doing now, so he doesn't miss anything, but I'm telling him to watch film on Colorado State because that's when he's coming back," Crowton said. (c) copyright by TotalBlueSports.com
