The quote comes from Sharrod Davis, a 5-10, 180-pound cornerback/wide receiver standout from Monte Vista High School in Spring Valley with 4.5 forty speed, who already has recorded two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown early in his senior season. He also has about 30 tackles so far this season.
Offensively, he's racked up "around 300 yards receiving on 14 passes with six games still left in the season." He added that, "We're 7-1 right now. It's going well. We've got a big game this weekend against our main rival team."
Fully informed about BYU's stringent Honor Code, Davis said he didn't have any problems with the higher standards demanded.
"I'm totally comfortable with that. I'm just trying to go to school anyways and play football, so I like that aspect of the whole thing also," said Davis.
Davis visited BYU during the BYU-Colorado State game, noting he enjoyed his trip despite the nationally televised pounding suffered at the hands of the visiting Rams, another team that has offered him.
"It (BYU visit) went well. I like the players, staff and the coaches in Provo. I like the family part about BYU. Everybody is real close and they welcome you very well," he told TotalBlueSports.com.
Davis added he was extremely impressed with the campus, scenery and the new indoor practice facilities took him by surprise. "I liked everything. I like the school and the indoor facilities were tremendous. It was huge."
The positive impressions aside, Davis confirmed he has not yet decided on his top three college finalists yet and said he will wait and weigh out his options in time.
