Dewayne Patterson Update

TBS recently spoke with Dewayne Patterson about how the recruiting season is going for him. He gave his top three and summarized his official visit schedule. TBS also got an evaluation of Patterson's talent from his head coach at Chaffey College

Total Blue Sports caught up with Chaffey JC Safety Dewayne Patterson to find out about the latest with his recruitment.

"I had a visit set up for Dec. 18th with BYU, but they called and rescheduled it." Patterson said. "BYU said that none of the students or football players were going to be on campus during the 18th. So I'm going to BYU on January 14th."

Patterson's cell phone cut out in the middle of the interview and TBS has not been able to reach him again. TBS did mange to learn that he has officially visited UTEP and Washington St.

"Right it's now between BYU, Washingtion St. and UTEP and I'd probably say that Washington St. is my favorite," Patterson said.

Patterson did say that the recent coaching changes at BYU have not hurt their chances. "I still like BYU even though they got a new coach," Patterson said.

Dewayne is 6'2 190 lbs safety who is said to play with reckless abandon. His Head Coach at Chaffey College had this to say about him, "Dewayne is one of only a few players that plays with very high intensity on every play."

Beach continued: "I've seen a lot of guys in the JC ranks that just aren't prepared to jump to the D-1 level. Dewayne is ready to play. He can play safety or outside linebacker."

TBS will continue to try to reestablish contact with Dewayne and provide further updates on his recruiting and his upcoming visit to BYU.
