BYU In Host Mode

Football recruiting season is in full swing which means hundreds of young men will be flying to various colleges around the country this weekend on official recruiting visits. Several of those recruits made the trip to Provo this weekend.

BYU's busy recruiting season continued this a full weekend of official visits from several prospects. The recruits all arrived on Friday for a weekend full of tours, meetings, food and fun.

On a typical visiting weekend, recruits were whisked from the airport to the Provo for a tour campus and the athletic facilities before dinner with the coaching staff. The young men got to spend the evening with their hosts from the BYU football team and then retire for the night at a local hotel.

Saturdays are a whirlwind of activity. The daytime hours are packed with a in depth tour of the new Student Athlete Facility, a video presentation on the Honor Code, a trip to Aspen Grove and the ever popular snowmobiling. The afternoon concludes with one-on-one meetings with a position coach and head coach Bronco Mendenhall. The meeting with Coach Mendenhall is a greatly anticipated event as it may include a coveted scholarship offer for recruits who have yet to be offered.

Dinner on Saturday is followed by a presentation by faculty and coaches and then another evening with hosts from the team. The exhausted recruits crash at their hotel again and then rise early to head back to the airport for the trip home.

For many recruits, these whirlwind trips are the only exposure to their home for the next four years.
