Recruiting Update: Brock Zylstra

Total Blue Sports recently caught up with Brock Zylstra. He talked about his recent season and up coming plans for the off-season.

Total Blue Sports caught up with Brock Zylstra this past week to find out how his season ended and where he stands with his recruiting.

"We finished 26-4, which is the best record in the schools history," Zylstra said. "We won the Mira Monte League championship by going 8-0. But we lost to Artesia 55-50 in the CIF semifinals."

The 6'4" 185-pound shooting guard helped carry his Bonita High School team through the playoffs in impressive fashion. In one play off game he scored 25 points. He ended his junior season averaging 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assist and 3 steals. He scored a season high 30 points against Arcadia High School.

Like Brock's jump shoot, recruiting is also getting hot. Brock is still hearing from Coach John Wardenburg from BYU and coaches from Stanford. But two other schools have entered the mix.

"I recently started hearing from Gonzaga and Harvard," Zylstra said. "This summer I will continue to play AAU ball, but I will also be going to Las Vegas for the Reebok Camp. I may go to the Nike camp, and the ABCD camp."

Brock said he plans on working hard this off-season, in preparation for his senior year by working with a personal trainer doing ply-metrics. He also said he would like to bulk up to 205 lbs. But in the mean time Brock is enjoying playing on his high school golf team. He has shot personal best 36 on 9 holes.

Brock is sure to get more recruiting attention this summer as he travels to the different camps, and Total Blue Sports will continue to check in with him again to see how that is going.
