TBS Welcomes New Staff Editor

The TBS staff grows by one as Mike Smith joins the editing team.

Total Blue Sports is pleased to announce the addition of Mike Smith as a Staff Editor. Mike has been working in this role quietly behind the scenes since the beginning of the year. Mike has provided invaluable assistance to TBS Editor-in-Chief Scott Paul in editing and publishing articles for TotalBlueSports.com and Total Blue Sports Magazine.

Outside of TBS, Mike is a published author and a retired officer in the U.S. Navy. He currently works as a military contractor.

Mike's first book, entitled Bloody Ridge: The Battle that Saved Guadalcanal, was published in 2000. He has also written several other pieces that have been published in magazines and on the web. Mike retired from the U.S. Navy after 24 years of service. He left the Navy as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Mike holds a degree in history from Regents College.

Mike is a true BYU fan, converting to Cougar blue in 1978, five years before converting to the LDS faith. Mike resides in Phoenix, Ariz. with his wife and three teenage sons.
