Recruit Update: Chandler Clemons

Over the weekend, TotalBlueSports.com caught up with a BYU quarterback recruit from the suburbs of Sacramento, California. Will this NorCal prospect follow Cougar greats like Wilson, Young and Detmer to Quarterback U?

According to Oak Ridge High School quarterback Chandler Clemons, BYU is going after one LDS and one non-LDS quarterback. James Lark's recent verbal commitment to the Cougars has filled the LDS spot, but the non-LDS quarterback spot is still open.

Clemons is one of the non-LDS QB's BYU is after.

"I'm still hearing from BYU," Clemons said. "I wanted to go visit BYU this last month but it didn't work into my schedule."

Clemons said it was not due to any lack of interest in BYU on his part, he simply had scheduling conflicts.

"My high school team went to Fresno St. 7 on 7 passing league," Clemons said. "It was a good experience and I felt like I improved as a QB."

As far as a future trip to Provo goes, Clemons said he would still like to visit BYU but may have to wait to till the season and take an official visit.

To date, Clemons still only has offers from BYU and Sacramento State.
