Recruit Update: Jeff Maddux

Will family ties be enough to bring a Michigan lineman to Provo? Total Blue Sports spoke with Monroe High School offensive tackle Jeff Maddux about what schools he is hearing from and how he feels about playing for BYU.

"So far I have offers from Central Michigan and Buffalo," Jeff Maddux said. "I'm getting letters from Wisconsin, Michigan State, Western Michigan, and BYU."

Maddux said he has not heard from the BYU coaches on the phone for a while (probably due to an NCAA mandated no-contact period in June), but he still receives letters occasionally. Coach Reynolds is the primary contact on the BYU staff for Maddux.

"BYU wanted me to come out to Provo for a camp but I couldn't make it," said the offensive tackle. "I will try to make it out there this month, though."

The 6'4", 295-pound lineman said he would love to play at BYU and that his brother, BYU defensive lineman Justin Maddux, has said great things about the school. The younger Maddux also said he will be attending the Michigan State camp later this week.
