BYU Receives JC DL Commit

BYU had another wave of recruits take official visits to campus this weekend. Before the weekend was over, at least one of those recruits verbally committed to play for the Cougars. The JC defensive end from California will bolster a depleted BYU defensive front.

Moses Foketi, 6-foot-1, 255-pound defensive end from Oakland, California's Laney Community College gave a verbal commitment to BYU. Peter Tuitupou, a TE/DE prospect from Mountain View High School in Orem, Utah who also took an official recruiting trip to BYU this weekend confirmed to that Foketi committed to Cougar coaches yesterday.

Foketi helped Laney to a 9-2 record and a Golden Gate Conference championship. He played defensive end next to another BYU recruit, Viliami Akoteu. Foketi spent the 2004 season at Chabot College in Hayward, Calif. He prepped at James Logan High School in Union City, California.

BYU offensive tackle Ray Feinga hosted Foketi during the weekend.
