More Flight Problems for Tonga

San Mateo, California defensive end Matangi Tonga is a key recruit for BYU. He loved his trip to Provo, and his brother plays for BYU, but TBS learned that Tonga is anything but in the bag for the Cougars.

"I've always wanted to play in the Pac-10," Matangi Tonga said, "but it's really tough because I like BYU a lot. If I hadn't taken my trip to Provo, I would have already committed to Oregon."

Tonga said he had a mix up at the airport for the second straight week, and missed his trip to Eugene.

"The airline would not accept my school ID," Tonga said, "so I missed the trip."

Tonga is very confused because he wants to see Oregon for himself so he can make a decision.

"I don't want to commit to Oregon if I haven't seen them in person," Tonga said. "I've heard they have great facilities but I don't want to take someone else's word for it."

Tonga has until Tuesday or Wednesday of this week to reschedule his trip to Oregon.

"I'm not sure what I'm going to do," Tonga said. "I kind of want to go to BYU, but I like Oregon."

Tonga said that BYU coaches, including Head Coach Bronco Mendenhall, paid him an in-home visit last week.

"Right now I'd say it's still even," Tonga said, "but BYU has little edge."
