BYU Gets a Big One

One week from today, BYU will announce the recruiting class of 2006. The class that was already over 20 recruits strong grew by one today, and it was a BIG one. BYU addressed one of its greatest needs with its latest commit.

TBS spoke with the Tonga family tonight and confirmed that the defensive lineman Matangi Tonga committed to play football for BYU.

Tonga committed to BYU coaches this evening. The Aragon High School superstar is a huge commit for the Cougars. Not only is Tonga 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds, will help on BYU's defensive front, but he is also rated a four-star recruit.

The star ranking means nothing to BYU coaches, but is sure to please Cougar fans who were recently disheartened by the commitment of four-star recruit Stanley Havili to USC and the decision of four-star lineman Sione Fua to play in the Pac-10.
