Three-Star OL Coming Soon to BYU

Provo, Utah is not known for its pleasant winters. It is not Alaska, but it is not sunny Thatcher, Arizona either. Easter Arizona College's offensive lineman Levi Mack wants to come to Provo so badly that he is giving up the warm Thatcher winter to come up to Provo and shiver with his new teammates at BYU during spring football practice.

Levi Mack from Eastern Arizona is a 6-foot-5, 315-pound offensive tackle who looks to fill one of the holes in BYU's offensive line.

"I'll be enrolling at BYU in January," Mack said. "I'm really looking forward to getting up there and being part of the brotherhood."

Mack was at BYU's games against New Mexico when BYU won the conference championship.

"It was pretty sweet," Mack said. "I got to be on the field with the team and then back in the locker room. I meet Jake [Kuresa] and Eddie [Keele] and Dallas [Reynolds]. They were great guys, and I had fun talking with them."

Eastern Arizona finished the season 7-4 and fell short of bowl game, but Levi said they did knock of Snow College, who was ranked #1 in the nation at the time.

"I had a good season," Mack said. "I matured as a player and gained some valuable knowledge."

Mack said his strengths as an offensive lineman are his pass blocking skills, but he feels he needs to improve on his downfield blocking.

"I'm taking one week off," said Mack, whose season ended last week, "then I'll be working out and getting myself conditioned so I don't throw up every day at practice."

Mack, who has three years to play two at BYU said he was told by the coaches to come in ready to compete for immediate playing time.

"I met with Coach Mendenhall in his office on Friday," Mack said. "He asked me questions about my season, and told me to be ready to come in and play."
