Mauga Will Not Sign Today

The last couple days have not been good for the BYU defensive line. On Monday, a Cougar freshman defensive end was indefinitely suspended, and today National Signing Day will come and go without BYU receiving a letter of intent from highly regarded Grossmont College defensive lineman Magnum Mauga.

Grossmont College defensive lineman Magnum Mauga will not sign a letter of intent with BYU today. Mauga will not be able to complete the necessary coursework to get his associated degree by the start of fall camp.

Mauga expects by next fall and sign an LOI in December 2007, which would allow him to come to BYU in January 2008 as a mid-year transfer.
