Shakerin Wide Open

Sausan Shakerin is a 6-foot-3, 200-pound running back prospect from Alta High School in Sandy, Utah. He ran for 2,250 yards and 25 touchdowns last season as a junior. Shakerin has recently been bombarded by many different colleges vying for his services. He currently has four scholarship offers representing the MWC, Big XII, and SEC.

"So far I have offers from Florida, Utah, BYU, and Colorado," said Shakerin. "I have a lot of schools looking at me right now who will probably offer soon as well."

Shakerin's most recent offer came from BYU while he toured the school and facilities on an unofficial visit. After seeing the facilities and meeting with the coaches, Shakerin's opinion of BYU changed.

"I was very flattered by their offer and impressed with their facilities," said Shakerin regarding BYU. "I liked the coaches and will definitely consider BYU when it comes time to decide."

The time to decide may not come for a while. He is in no hurry to make an oral commitment to any school.

"I just want to wait for all the offers to come in and then decide," said Shakerin. "I'll probably decide after next season."

While Shakerin has previously stated no desire to play in his home state, he now includes Utah and BYU among the schools to which he is giving serious consideration.

"I'm wide-open right now," said Shakerin. "I'd love to play for Florida or a school in southern California, but BYU and Utah look really good to me too right now."
