Bingham O-lineman Receives Second Offer

Derek Tuimauga is expected to be one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Utah next season. The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Bingham Miner already has two offers. His first offer came from a Pac-10 school. His second offer came yesterday from an in-state school. Tuimauga is sure to hear from many more programs in the weeks and months to come.

Two of Derek Tuimauga's teammates committed to BYU earlier this month, and even though he has not yet received an offer from the Cougars, Tuimauga is not without options.

"Today I got an offer from Utah but not yet from BYU," Tuimauga said.

To date, Tuimauga has two offers in hand: one from Oregon and the other from Utah.

The departure of BYU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes to the University of Colorado may have something to do with the absence of an offer from the Cougars.

"Austin Holt said they were looking for an offensive line coach," said Tuimauga. "I haven't gotten offered yet by BYU and they just said they're waiting to get their new offensive line coach and then they'll get back to me."
