The January issue of Total Blue Sports Magazine contains the following articles:

-2008 Recruiting Snapshot: Total Blue Sports previews the football team's 2008 recruiting class.
-Striving for a National Championship One Last Time: Senior outside hitter Ivan Perez talks about the men's volleyball team and its goal of winning it all.
-Scout National Story: The Grass Isn't Always Greener Someplace Else: This article, written by Scout, goes over how schools deal with potential early exits from long-term coaching contracts.
-One Day at a Time: Former BYU receiver and kick returner Nate Meikle, a guest columnist for this issue, recounts how Bronco Mendenhall helped him overcome his fear of returning punts.

The following is a snippet from Nate's article:

"I'll just keep hiding out on the sideline," I tell myself as the players on the field are trying out for punt returner. The irony of the situation sinks in as I find myself wishing there were a way I could return punts without having to actually catch the ball. No doubt I could make some defenders miss once the ball was in my hands. But looking up to the sky, utterly vulnerable, as 11 defenders with a 40-yard head start and a combined weight of 2,200 pounds come sprinting toward me with the sole purpose of knocking me out…yeah, that's why I'm still standing on the sideline. Even more deflating is the headline I imagine showing up in the Post Register the next day: "Meikle Muffs Punt - Costs Vikings the Game!" I realize my style of play is great for returning punts, but it's dropping the punt and costing our team the game, the season, the national championship that doesn't really mesh with me. Yeah, I'll just hang out on the sideline and sip some water.

"Meikle! Meikle! Nate Meikle! Get out here!"

"Busted," I lament as I strap on my helmet and run onto the field.
