Malosi Te'o to BYU

Malosi Te'o, currently nearing the end of his mission in New York, was offered a scholarship about a month ago by the Cougar coaches. According to his father Ephraim Te'o, Malosi informed the UNLV coaching staff that he'll be accepting BYU's scholarship offer.

"I haven't spoken with him and he hasn't contacted BYU's coaches yet," said Ephraim Te'o of his son Malosi. "But I know he's told UNLV coaches that he will be accepting BYU's offer."

Malosi Te'o is the cousin of Shiloah Te'o, who will be joining BYU's team this fall, and of Manti Te'o, who is the much prized linebacker recruit from Hawaii. The three Te'o cousins are very close friends with each other.

Malosi plays running back and always dreamed of playing for BYU as a kid. His high school film shows him to be a running back with lively movement and good straight-ahead speed, drawing comparisons to J.J. DiLuigi. TBS will have more on Te'o's commitment later.
