Timothy Likes BYU

Gifford Timothy from Middletown, Delaware has a top school in mind as he preps for his junior year of high school. Having made three consecutive trips out to the All-Poly Camp and two straight trips to BYU's camps, Timothy has come to know BYU very well and he likes what he sees.

"I love BYU," said Gifford Timothy. "They're my top school for sure. I really want to go to the Y. I probably like Boise State after that, but BYU is the school I want to go to right now."

Timothy is a 6-foot-6-inch, 280-pound offensive line prospect that is receiving some early attention from some top programs. His mailbox has been recently stuffed with letters from the likes of Rutgers, Penn State, BYU and some other top schools.

"I have offers from BYU and Boise State right now," explained Timothy. "I went to Boise State's camp and coaches told me that they really liked me and gave me an offer. So, they're my other top school right now with BYU."

Timothy has been making trips out to the All-Poly Camp in large part due to the competition and the overall level of intensity of the camp.

"I love it out here," said Timothy. "The All-Poly Camp is somewhere where the players don't mess around as much as at other camps. It's very intense and the competition is great. That is the main reason why I keep coming out here."

Delaware is obviously a small state not known for its football, and although Timothy goes against some good players in his home state, it's not quite up to the level of talent he's seen at the All-Poly camp.

"The guys out here are very good," noted Timothy. "They keep coming at you and they come fast and they come hard, so you have to be ready every time. It's a good way to prepare me better for the season."

Timothy's strength as an offensive lineman obviously is his superior height. Standing in at 6 feet 6 inches, he's able to put out his arms and create a wider path to the quarterback as he pass-blocks for his blocking assignment. Timothy has also shown quick feet in drills, making him a prime prospect to play offensive tackle.

Timothy is LDS and has plans to serve a mission. TBS will keep track of Timothy into his junior season as his recruitment and subsequent offers are bound to pick up.
