Van Noy Lets his Commit Known

As expected, Reno athlete Kyle Van Noy made his commitment to BYU known while on his official trip this weekend. Van Noy is a 6-foot-4-inch, 210-pound athlete that could play a number of positions while at BYU. He has already developed a lot of ties, most notably with Richard Wilson, who he plans to room with while at BYU.

Kyle Van Noy confirmed tonight via Jay Drew of the Salt Lake Tribune that he had committed a few months earlier, but wanted to wait until his visit to make it public. It was well-known by insiders that Van Noy did in fact commit to Cougar coaches as early as October.

Having observed Van Noy through workouts and through film, it's easy to gauge that he's an elite athlete that could start anywhere from outside linebacker to tight end while at BYU. Van Noy played a number of positions in high school and the general consensus among scouts is that when he chooses his set position in college, the sky is the limit.

Over the summer Van Noy appeared set on playing outside linebacker at college. He could very well be likened to Bryan Kehl in regards to potential, although sources indicate that BYU has talked to him a lot lately about playing offense. Regardless, BYU is getting a top prospect that will add greatly to the success of the team.

We'll have more on Van Noy when he gets home after his trip.
