We caught up with Kamahameha's RJ Willing right after Ohio State edged Miami in the Fiesta Bowl to get the latest on his thoughts about recruiting and the national championship game...
RJ, a 6'4", 290 pound offensive lineman at Kamehameha Secondary in Honolulu, has already visited Oregon and admits that he thought a lot about committing while he was on his trip in Eugene.
"I was really tempted because it was such a nice place," RJ told BYU.TheInsiders.com. "One of my good friends, Enoka Lucas plays for the Ducks and I liked Eugene. But I've decided that I want to take all of my trips before making a decision."
RJ is set to visit Washington on January 10, and despite rumors on several recruiting sites that he is a lock to commit on his visit there, RJ says he will take his time before announcing a decision.
"I want to sit down with my parents after all of my trips are over and weigh the positives of each situation."
When asked what his favorites were, RJ said it was a three-way tie with Washington, Oregon and BYU. He said that his parents' favorite was BYU.
Willing is LDS and would like to attend school for one year before leaving on a church mission. He said that all of the schools who are recruiting him have indicated that they are willing to allow him to leave on a mission.
RJ was rooting for Miami in the Fiesta Bowl and was disappointed in the pass interference call that allowed Ohio State to eventually tie the game in overtime.
