Brandon Bourbon is a 6-foot-1-inch, 209-pound running back prospect from Potosi, Missouri. He holds offers from Stanford, BYU, Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri and Vanderbilt.
While Bourbon has considered all schools that have offered him, Stanford has definitely risen to the top following this weekend's visit.
"I've always loved the academic aspect of Stanford and that may be the biggest factor of why I like them so much," remarked Bourbon about Stanford. "But on this trip I really liked meeting with the coaching staff and they really impressed me. They talk to you like a person and not as a football player, and I like that a lot."
Bourbon is aware of Stanford's struggles on the gridiron in recent years, but believes that the program is on the up and up.
"The enthusiasm there is great," noted Bourbon after meeting with several of the current players and coaching staff. "Everyone is real positive about where the program is headed and it would be great to be part of that."
Bourbon has a goal to commit to a program before the start of the football season. He intends to hold true to that goal and indicated that he's closer to making a decision after his trip to Stanford.
Bourbon will now try to take trips to schools such as BYU and Kansas State but doesn't have any definite plans to, indicating to TBS that he's taken his last unofficial trip to Stanford. The plan now will be to think it over a bit with his family and then decide on where to commit within the next two weeks.
"Stanford is definitely my clear favorite right now and is the school I'm thinking of committing to here soon," summed up Bourbon.
