2018 BYU Football Recruiting Prospects

RECRUITING CONNECTIONS are always fascinating to study. But few of them go back this far. The Cougs are recruiting hard 4-star QB prospect Cammon Cooper out of Lehi, Utah, this spring. And Cooper’s head coach in high school and one WSU assistant go back more than 30 years.

At 6-foot-6, Jaren Kump is a big offensive tackle being courted by five Pac-12 colleges, including Utah, Oregon, and Cal. The early BYU commit is being pursued very hard by these college football programs, so the question is where does Kump stand with BYU?

WHEN IT COMES to the recruitment of 4-star quarterback Cammon Cooper, the WSU coaches have made it quite clear where they stand with the touted signal caller. They want him in crimson and in Pullman in 2018. Cooper has had the Cougars among his top schools for quite some time, and a move by WSU on Wednesday definitely stood out to him.

Liberty High School (NV) gave BYU their star, ballhawk safety in Kai Nacua, who prowled the Cougar secondary for many years. Hailing from the same school a Nacua, Allan Mwata, who can play both safety and cornerback, has become BYU’s newest commit in the 2018 class.

Coming in at around 6-3, 173-pounds, Dallas Taylor Cortez of Chaminade High School (CA) was the first to receive a BYU scholarship. The 2018 cornerback prospect currently places BYU at the top of his list and wants to take an official to the campus.
