Preview: Wichita State Shockers

Cal State Fullerton (3-2) visits Wichita State (3-2) tonight with tip-off set for 5:05 PM (PST). This will be the first time the Titans play in front of a crowd of more than 900 people as more than 10,000 are expected at Charles Koch Arena.

Scouting Report

  • Toughest team Titans have faced this year, by a wide, wide margin
  • Lost to No. 15 Alabama by 10 at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Tourney
  • Beat Colorado by 9 and also lost to Temple by 4 in same tournament
  • Other wins were UAB by 22 and C. Southern by 28
  • They will launch 3's and are better shooting team than their current 33% indicates
  • WSU is a very experienced team who go about 8 deep (5 Sr., 2 Jr., 1 Fr.) in close games but like to use thier bench when they have big leads
  • Shockers play tenacious defense which could pose a major problem for turnover-prone Titans.
  • Leading scorer is senior 6-5 guard Toure' Murry (14.1 ppg) who also happens to be their best defender
  • 7-0, 255 senior center Garrett Stutz may have a field day if John Underwood still gets limited minutes. 3rd leading scorer and leading rebounder.
  • Senior guard Ben Smith (6-5) is second leading scorer and shoots very well from outside. 6-4 senior guard David Kyles is also a major threat from outside.
