'TIR' to Webcast Nearly 100 Titan Athletic Events
Nov. 1, 2001 – Fullerton, Calif.

The Cal State Fullerton athletic department has reached an agreement with Titan Internet Radio to have nearly 100 regular season events broadcast over the school’s internet radio station, which can be accessed at titaninternetradio.com.

The first "official" webcast will feature the women's basketball team in an exhibition game vs. The Firm tonight (Nov. 1) at 7:00 p.m. The regular season schedule picks up with the men's basketball opener at Pepperdine on Nov. 17.

The agreement is the largest in scope since the Titans began “webcasting” selected baseball games during the 1996 season. In the five years following, Fullerton has aired the majority of men’s basketball and baseball games via the auspices of Yahoo’s Broadcast.com, but has never had the resources to venture into other sports.

However, under the agreement with Titan Internet Radio, selected women’s basketball and softball games will be “aired” in addition to nearly every baseball and men’s basketball game. The schedules are subject to change with the likelihood of more games, including postseason events, being added to the schedule.

Veteran play-by-play announcer Rob Buska will call the action for the majority of the broadcasts along with an assortment of color commentators. Buska, formerly the announcer for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, an affiliate of the Anaheim Angels, worked several men’s basketball and baseball broadcasts for the Titans in 2000-01.
