According to the San Francisco Chronicle, "Even though they were 12-18 last season, USF might be the second-best team in the WCC. Gonzaga, favored in the preseason coaches poll, also is not the unbeatable ogre it has been the past few years. The primary difference from last year for USF is that starting point guard LyRyan Russell and his backup, redshirt freshman Jason Gaines, are back after missing all of last season with injuries that left the Dons with a rudderless offense.
"But Mathews knows that it is the fifth member of that starting lineup who will determine USF's success. That player is Tucker, the 6-9, 240-pounder known for a sweet shot, the NBA body and the limitless potential. But after being an all-conference pick as a freshman, he failed to make it last year. "
USF is coming off a loss
to Seton Hall, 87-79. Shamell Stallworth led the Dons in scoring with 23
points. Tucker, the teams leading returning scorer, had 18 points and 15 rebounds.

TitanCentral.com's Key's to Winning: Coach Daniels says Tucker is one of the best forwards on the West Coast. The Dons are probably better than Pepperdine which does not bode well. T
