Two of this years losses came at home by a total of 3 points and the other two losses were on the road -- by 10 points at UC Irvine when the Titans let a lead get away and by 8 at Long Beach State. Overall, the Titans have lost five in a row including a Dec. 29 non-conference loss at Northern Arizona. They still are ahead of last years (5-23) pace, when win No. 3 didnt come until game No. 16 and win No. 4 didnt come until game No. 24.
ABOUT THE HIGHLANDERS: UC Riverside (5-7, 2-2) has taken care of several firsts in its first season in the Big West Conference. The Highlanders got their first Big West win on Dec. 22 vs. Cal Poly and last week won their first Big West road game at Long Beach State. Sophomore forward Vili Morton leads the team with averages of 12.4 ppg and 9.0 rpg. The Titans and Highlanders split a pair of well separated games last season in non-conference play. UCR won at home (59-52) on Nov. 25 despite Kevin Richardsons career-high 24 points. The Titans won at home (70-59) in the season finale on Mar. 3 as UCR played without three injured regulars. Fullerton has a 9-8 lead in the all-time series, which had seen only one game (1984-85) played since the 1973-74 season.
