Josh Akognon averaged 10.3 points for the deliberate Cougars last season, making 37 percent of his 3-point field goals and shooting 80 percent from the free-throw line. He appeared in all 28 games, 13 as a starter. He had 22 points in a home win over UC Riverside on Nov. 19, 27 points at Washington on Jan. 7 and 25 points at UCLA on Jan. 12. As a freshman he appeared in 26 game off the bench and averaged 3.9 points.
The 5-foot-10, 198-pounder is from Petaluma and Casa Grande High School in northern California.
Fullerton averaged 79 points per game during a 16-13 season in 2005-06 while the Cougars scored only 58 points per contest while compiling an 11-17 season.
Fullerton had good luck with a previous transfer from Washington State in football. Running back Mike Pringle rushed for 2,223 yards in two seasons (1988-89) for the Titans and led the nation in all-purpose yards with 2,690 in 1989. He went on to become the all-time leading rusher in the history of the Canadian Football League.
The Titans open the 2006-07 regular season on Nov. 10 with a home contest against the California Maritime Academy at 7:05 p.m.
