Titans Receive First Commitment

The Cal State Fullerton men's basketball program has received their first early commitment, a 6-6 athletic wing, for the 2007-08 season

Saddleback College sophomore Gerard Anderson has committed to Cal State Fullerton and will sign a LOI in November according to a source close to the situation.

Anderson (6-6, 195) played high school basketball at Verbum Dei in Los Angeles where he averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. According to scouting reports from Scout.com, "Anderson has high-major talent." Anderson was ranked #7 among 2005 West Coast small forwards in the rankings released by Scout.com.

Anderson is extremely athletic who could possible play the two or three. He will likely play the three at Cal State Fullerton but he did play point during the Say No summer league this year.

A good ball-handler who has been improving his outside shot since joining Saddleback. In Open Gym this past Friday he really didn't need a jumper as his acrobatic dunks were working well for him.

Anderson becomes the first 2006 recruit to commit for the Titans. Cal State Fullerton should have three scholarships available for the 2007-08 season.
