Titans Host Biola; Section K T-Shirts Debut

Fullerton, CA -- The Cal State Fullerton basketball team takes to the floor in an exhibition game tonight against Biola University. Tipoff is at 7:05 p.m. in historic Titan Gymnasium. It is also the debut of the Section KAOS T-shirts. $10 is all it takes to get a hold of this soon-to-be-classic Titan apparel.

Cal State Fullerton puts its 2007-08 men's basketball team on public display against a rival institution for the first time Tuesday night (Nov. 6) when the Titans host Biola University of La Mirada in an exhibition game at 7:05 p.m. in Titan Gym.  There will be no admission charge but parking permits are required ($5 at vending machines).

Fullerton has staged an intrasquad scrimmage and then held a closed-door session at USC on Saturday afternoon in addition to three weeks of practices.

shirtBiola is coached by Dr. Dave Holmquist, a product of Fullerton's Sunny Hills High School, Cypress College and Biola who is in his 28th season.  The NAIA Eagles were 15-16 overall last year including 9-11 for seventh place in the Golden State Athletic Conference.

Fullerton is coached by Bob Burton, who is beginning his fifth season at Fullerton.  The NCAA Div. I Titans were 20-10 overall last year and 9-5 for a tie for second place in the  Big West Conference.

Fullerton got encouraging medical news last week on returning All-Big West forward Scott Cutley, who fractured his right ankle on the second day of practice.  He is out of a hard cast and in a boot and healing well enough that there are no plans to insert a screw or pin in the joint, so he could be back in action in December.

Fullerton opens its regular season Friday night at home against Cal State Bakersfield.  Biola has another scrimmage with Claremont and then opens at the Carroll College Tournament in Helena, Montana, on Nov. 16 & 17.
