GAME NOTES: After opening the season with three consecutive wins, the Titans have dropped six of their last eight matchups. However, the last time Fullerton was on the court the team snapped a three-game losing skid with a 77-70 victory over CS Bakersfield. The majority of the problems for the Titans have come on the road this year, as the team has dropped four of its five contests as the visitor.
The last time the Aggies were in action the team snapped a five-game slide with an 89-53 victory over Whittier. While Whittier is clearly not a top-notch opponent, any victory is important especially when a team is struggling like UC Davis. The problems have even come at home for UC Davis, which is just 2-3 at the Pavilion.
The Titans have won nine of the 11 matchups against UC Davis. However, the two wins for the Aggies came last season.
The Titans overcame 18 turnovers to grab a seven-point victory over CS Bakersfield in their last matchup. Fullerton shot 46.6 percent from the floor in the matchup and also made 10-of-26 shots from behind the arc. Jacques Streeter led the way in the win with 23 points and six assists, while Aaron Thompson added 16 points. On the season Streeter has been the most consistent player for Fullerton, but the guard is only netting 10.9 ppg, to go along with 4.1 apg. Thompson is contributing 10.7 ppg, while Jer'Vaughn Johnson is posting 10.4 ppg, to go along with a team- best 5.9 rpg. As whole, the Titans head into this contest averaging a mediocre 71.8 ppg, behind a healthy 45.6 percent shooting effort.
The Aggies put forth one of their better performances of the season in their last matchup against Whittier, as UC Davis scored 89 points en route to a win. The Aggies shot 49.2 percent in the matchup, and also won the battle on the glass by a 47-26 margin. Mark Payne exploded for 28 points in the victory, while Dominic Calegari added 13 points, to go along with seven rebounds and five assists. Ryan Sypkens tallied 11 points, while Joe Harden contributed 10 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. While it was a solid showing for UC Davis, the team on the year has mediocre offensively, averaging 71.1 ppg. Payne has been the pace-setter, as the guard is netting 17.8 ppg. Calegari is contributing 14.7 ppg, while Harden is helping out with 14.3 ppg, and a team- best 8.0 rpg.
The Aggies will have a much tougher time against Fullerton and although they defeated the Titans twice this past season, look for Fullerton to get some revenge this evening.
