GAME NOTES: The Long Beach State 49ers wrap up a five-game road trip tonight, as they take on the Cal State Fullerton Titans in Big West Conference play.

The 49ers have dropped all four games on their current road swing, including two in overtime. On Saturday, LBSU kicked off conference play with a tough 69-67 overtime loss at UC Riverside. With the defeat, the 49ers dipped to 6-8 overall and 2-6 on the road.

As for the Titans, they too were downed in their conference opener on Saturday, falling 67-63 at UC Davis. It was the fourth loss in the past five games for CSUF, which dropped to 5-7 overall. The Titans however, have been solid at home, going 4-1 thus far.

CSUF and LBSU split a pair of one-point meetings last season, leaving the 49ers with a 58-39 lead in the head-to-head series.

The 49ers missed nine of their last 13 free throws, allowing UC Riverside to pull out a 69-67 victory on a last-second bucket by Larry Gurganious in overtime. LBSU struggled at the line all game long, finishing a dismal 17- of-35. Greg Plater and Casper Ware each tallied 17 points in the setback, while T.J. Robinson notched a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. It was the ninth double-double of the campaign for Robinson, who averages one on the season with team-highs of 16.1 ppg and 10.9 rpg. Larry Anderson ranks second on the squad with both 12.7 ppg and 3.4 apg, while Stephan Gilling chips in 11.8 ppg behind 43.9 percent shooting from downtown. Ware adds 11.7 ppg and he has been in charge of running the offense, handing out a team-high 5.6 apg.

Much like LBSU, the Titans were plagued by poor free-throw shooting in their league opener over the weekend, going just 13-of-28 at the line in a 67-63 loss at UC Davis. CSUF didn't help itself with lackluster shooting from long range either, connecting on just 6-of-22 tries. Gerard Anderson logged 13 points and nine boards to pace the Titans, while Aaron Thompson and Jacques Streeter chipped in with 11 and nine points, respectively. Streeter and Thompson are currently tied for the team-lead in scoring at 10.8 ppg and they are combining for 6.5 apg. Jer'Vaughn Johnson is another double-figure scorer at 10.3 ppg and he is also the team's top rebounder with 6.1 rpg.

The 49ers have a few more scoring options than the Titans and that should help them salvage the final game on their road trip with a win tonight.
