Bears Offer 2012 Athlete

Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro running back/defensive back D.J. Foster added to his offer total on Thursday with the California Golden Bears throwing their hat into the ring...

If the recruitment of Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro star athlete D.J. Foster wasn't big enough, it just got that much bigger.

Arkansas, Arizona, Oregon State, Arizona State, and UCLA all offered the 6-foot, 185-pounder prior to Thursday, and today he tells that he has received two more offers.

"Cal (California) and Oregon offered today," Foster says via text message.

Foster had a tremendous junior year. He helped the Sabercats to a 12-2 record and a 4A1 state title after rushing for 1,421 yards and 22 touchdowns. He showed great hands out of the backfield, making 43 catches for 740 yards and four touchdowns and was a standout defensive back, recording 60 tackles and seven interceptions.

Foster is being recruited on both sides of the ball. In fact, the two offers he received today come at different positions.

"Oregon wants me at receiver," Foster says. "Cal as a DB. Both are programs I have a lot of respect for and are definitely schools I have interest in."
