Bears Eyeing Richardson

Detroit Cass Tech (Mich.) junior cornerback Terry Richardson had a great season, and colleges know all about it. He already has four verbal offers, and if all goes as planned, that total should increase over the next few weeks...

After getting on the radar and playing well as a sophomore, Terry Richardson emerged this season as one of the top players in the PSL.

The 5'9, 160-lb junior cornerback had eight interceptions and 30 tackles, and chipped in five touchdown receptions on offense as well.

Alabama, LSU and Iowa verbally offered over the summer after camps, but those three programs may have company very soon.

"I'll tell you all the schools about to offer me: Michigan, Michigan State, USC, Miami, and Florida."

Some of those schools have been recruiting Richardson for awhile, but a couple of them have just recently made contact.

"I just got done talking to Florida and Miami coaches and they were going to offer me after signing day," Richardson reported. "I talked Coach Z (Azzani from Florida) and my coach had talked to Coach Stoutland (Miami). Both schools said they're going to come up here and see me. I know during the summer I'm going to trip down there."

Another school who has been interested in him is California. The Golden Bears are one of the schools who have seen his junior tape. They are part of his West Coast interest along with rival USC.

"The Cal head coach and their defensive backs coach talked to me, said they saw the tape and they really like it. USC is about to offer too. They're coming up to the school around January. I've got Nick Perry (a Detroit native) working for me. Coach John Morton said he's going to come up to the school."

Then there are the in-state schools.

"Michigan State, I haven't talked to them in awhile, but I know they called my Coach Fobbs. I talk to people who are over there and they said Dantonio said they're going to offer me."

Michigan has been in recently and the Wolverines appear to be ready to offer both Richardson and another of his junior teammates.

"Coach Dews came up to school about a week or two ago and said they're going to offer me and Royce (Jenkins-Stone). He said the offers are going to come."
