Signing Day Decision

Sacramento (Calif.) Grant defensive end Faigame Lopa will visit Cal this weekend for his final visit...

Faigame Lopa took his third official visit this weekend, to Oregon State.

"It was a good visit, I had a good time," said Lopa. "Roman Sapolu was my host and I spent time with him and a lot of the other players."

He also talked extensively with the Oregon State coaches.

"I talked mostly with Coach (Joe) Seumalo and Coach (Mike) Riley, and they told me how much they wanted me," said Lopa. "Corvallis was real cool. It's different then the other schools (Arizona State and UCLA) that I've seen. But I liked it there."

Lopa will take one last official visit, to California next weekend, the Bears stepping in this last week with an offer.

"Coach [Jeff] Tedford came in for an in-home visit and they offered me," said Lopa.

Lopa has held the Bears in high esteem for some time, and his close friend, Viliami Moala, is already a commit to Cal.

"If I chose Cal, or any school, I'm not choosing it because of him," said Lopa. "But it's definitely nice to know that if I chose Cal, he'd be there."

Lopa said he's down to three schools.

"I'm really looking at UCLA, Cal and Oregon State," said Lopa. "Coach Riley and Coach Tedford have both been by and Coach (Rick) Neuheisel is coming on Tuesday."

And he will announce his decision next week.

"I'm going to announce on Signing Day," said Lopa.
