Three-star CB considering Cal

Three-star cornerback Patrick Enewally recently named a top three, but another team has recently emerged to make its pitch: California.

VISALIA, Calif. -- Though three-star Patrick Enewally named a top three of Washington, Boise State and UCLA on Friday at the Cal State Game media day, he did say that California is working hard to set up an in-home visit, once the holiday dead period is over.

"Cal's looking to come to my house," Enewally said after running down his other in-homes.

Head coach Sonny Dykes is looking to meet with Enewally in-person, something which says a lot to the Cerritos (Calif.) Gahr defensive back.

"It gives you a lot of respect, and it says a lot," Enewally said. "The thing about the Pac-12 is that a lot of schools, you have no idea what will happen, just like Oregon State this year. Who'd ever have thought? That's a great, outstanding program."

One thing is for sure: Dykes told Enewally that the defense in Berkeley will be much improved over last year's Louisiana Tech unit, which was last in the nation, and he wants Enewally to be a part of it.

"He said, ‘We love you and we think you can come in and contribute pretty early as a corner,'" Enewally said. Top Stories
