CSDTV: Crabbe Talks Sideline Shove

Allen Crabbe and Justin Cobbs talk about Cal's win over USC, and the motivational tactics from head coach Mike Montgomery that it took to get them there.

BERKELEY -- Allen Crabbe talks about his sideline altercation with head coach Mike Montgomery, and how it spurred him and the Bears to victory over USC and a fourth-place tie with Arizona State in the Pac-12 standings.

California's win on Sunday over USC made it four in a row by the Bears over the Trojans, and lifted Cal's all-time advantage over USC to 133-120.

With the win, the Bears have now won three straight for the first time since opening the year on a 6-0 run.

Cal scored the opening bucket only to see USC go on a 9-0 run. The Bears responded with a 13-0 run of their own to go up, 15-9. The Trojans then went for 12 straight to go up, 21-15. USC went on a 13-0 run in the second half, as well.

The Bears were behind, 32-28 at the half, the sixth time in the last seven games Cal has trailed at the break. The Bears have won four times when down at the half during that streak.

With 23 points against USC, Allen Crabbe moved up to 11th on the Cal's all-time scoring list, with 1,424 points. He passed Rickey Hawthorne, who had 1,413 points from 1973-76.

Crabbe set a season high with five three-pointers and 10 rebounds, and a career high with six steals.

Crabbe had his first double-double of the year, and the fifth of his career.

Junior big man Richard Solomon has scored 31 points over his last two games (17 vs. UCLA and 14 against USC) – the most he's scored in back-to-back games in his college career. During those two games, he is 14-for-17 from the floor.

After committing nine turnovers in the first half, Cal did not turn the ball over once after the break until one minute remained in the game.

Justin Cobbs was a perfect 9-for-9 on free throws, and finished with 22 points. He also had six assists and only one turnover.
