Moute a Bidias Commits to Cal

Cal adds a fifth to its 2013 recruiting class with the commitment of 6-foot-7, 190-pound Cameroon forward Roger Moute a Bidias, the brother of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

As soon as he got back to Massachusetts from his midweek official visit to California, Roger Moute a Bidias picked up the phone and called his father – not an odd order of events for an official visitor, to be sure, except this phone call was all the way back to Cameroon.

"It was a long phone call," Moute a Bidias said, "but he asked if I committed to that school I was visiting, and I said, ‘Yeah, I think I'm going to.'"

And, with that, Moute a Bidias decided that he was indeed going to commit to the Golden Bears, calling the staff on Saturday around noon to tell them the good news.

"I am officially committed to Cal," Moute a Bidias told Cal Sports Digest shortly after he pulled the trigger. "I'm officially a Golden Bear. I just went with my heart. When I visited the school, I saw that that was the place where I would belong. When I played with the guys, I felt like those were the guys who I would like to be around and play with."
