Zeandae Johnson came to Berkeley today with just a single offer -- from Idaho. He left the California campus not only with a Bears offer in-hand, but as a commit.
Johnson measures in at 6-foot-3.5 and 249 pounds -- up from when BearTerritory saw him early in the spring at PassingDown. He is a long, lean, rangy and quick jumbo athlete, who also works in at tight end. Johnson recently told BT that he plans to focus more on the defensive line side of the equation, and that's just where Cal wants him.
Johnson was not the only athlete to score a Bears offer on Saturday, as Bothell (Wash.) Elite 11 QB Ross Bowers earned one from offensive coordinator Tony Franklin.
Johnson was also not the only defensive lineman on campus. Four-star tackle Jonathan Ledbetter was in the house, a day after three-star Russell Ude palled around with Vic Enwere and Luke Rubenzer in a visit he gushed about to BT earlier on Saturday, saying that Cal "really rolled out the red carpet."
