Vorhees Scores First Offer

BERKELEY, Calif. -- Andrew Vorhees is just starting to get noticed, and after his camp in Berkeley on Saturday, it looks like the Pac-12 may come calling.

BERKELEY, Calif. -- One of the standouts at the Sonny Dykes Football Camp morning session – featuring offensive and defensive linemen – was long, lean, athletic tackle Andrew Vorhees.

At 6-foot-6, 290 pounds, Vorhees – out of Kingsburg (Calif.), just south of Fresno – is bull strong with great length, and he was especially impressive during one-on-one work.

Vorhees – a 2017 prospect -- just earned his first scholarship offer, pulling one down from Nevada on June 8, but he’s just starting to get to know the Wolf Pack, and hasn’t yet been on a visit.

“I just know they’re the Wolf Pack. I don’t know a lot about them, but I’m very blessed and excited to receive an offer from them,” Vorhees said. “Coach [Mike] Bradeson, I’ve had a lot of communication with him.”

Vorhees – who, yes, has a cousin named Jason – came to Berkeley on Saturday just to get some more looks.

“I just want to get looked at, right now. I want a Pac-12 offer. That’s the dream – to play in the Pac-12,” Vorhees said. “I was at Arizona State two nights ago, and they told me to go out there for their junior day, so I think they’re interested. Coach Michalczik, out at Arizona, he’s on the verge of offering, he told me.”

Vorhees boasts a 3.8 GPA, and said that education will play a big part in his recruitment.

“Obviously, their football program, but I want a good education, too,” Vorhees said of what he’s looking for in a school. “I want an elite caliber school to go to, so I can get a good education.”
