  • We start off finding out just what's different about the Cougars after last year's 1,261-passing yard affair between Jared Goff and Connor Halliday. The biggest difference in Washington State? Redshirt sophomore quarterback Luke Falk (0:48), a longtime Patriots fan who had an interesting experience in the game against Rutgers.
  • Falk has a "good, calm edge," Zimmer says, and that's the biggest difference between him and Halliday.
  • What about the Cougars' defense has changed since last year? Well, Washington State has a new defensive coordinator in Alex Grinch, who's all about getting to the ball, and getting it away from the offense (2:59).
  • Washington State wants to see two takeaways per practice.
  • The Cougars have five turnovers in the last two games, after having gained eight turnovers all of last season.

  • Marcellus Pippins is a name to watch for in the secondary, and he has a nose for the ball.
