BERKELEY -- Senior California wide receiver Maurice Harris notched his first multi-receiving TD game of his career, with two touchdowns in the 54-24 route over Oregon State.
Harris -- the cousin of record-setting Bears receiver Keenan Allen -- now has five touchdowns on the season and nine for his career. He led Cal in receiving with four catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns.
Freshman fullback Malik McMorris was valuable in run blocking, but his highlight came with 6:35 left in the game, when he caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Jared Goff for his first career touchdown.
The last time McMorris caught a touchdown, it was during Cal's two-a-day practices at Concord (Calif.) De La Salle during fall camp. Before that, he caught a touchdown from Bears backup Chase Forrest his junior year of high school, when both were at Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei.
The 5-foot-11, 300-pound McMorris played through his mother's losing battle with cancer while at Mater Dei, and walked on after being admitted solely on academics. You can read his story HERE.
