California tight end Stephen Anderson came to Berkeley as a 6-foot-2, 209-pound receiver, and is leaving as a 6-foot-3, 230-pound tight end, and, after a senior year in which he caught 41 balls for 474 yards, he's been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine.
During his career in Berkeley, Anderson went from walk-on to scholarship player, and finishes his time in the blue and gold with 101 receptions for 1,260 yards, with his best season coming as a junior in 2014, when he set career highs in catches (46), yards (661) and touchdowns (5), averaging a career-best 4.6 catches per game, and 14.4 yards per reception in 10 games, missing the first two games due to a lower-leg injury.
