Can Cal hold off UCLA for OL Francisco Perez?

Baldwin Park (Calif.) offensive lineman Francisco Perez is a long time Cal commit but will visit UCLA this coming weekend.

Talented offensive lineman Francisco Perez committed to Cal back in July and still looks like a solid commit for the Bears.

One school that hasn't backed off Perez is UCLA and the big lineman will take his official visit to Westwood this coming weekend. The Bears still have a chance to make the last impression on Perez before he has to make a final call.

Breakdown:

Perez is a versatile lineman who could play tackle or guard in college. He plays left tackle for his Baldwin Park squad but has the strength and versatility to move inside and play guard in college.

He was one of the top lineman we saw at The Opening Regional Camp in Redondo last summer, showing surprising athleticism for a player his size. He's a very physical player who finishes his blocks well and can get to the second level and make a block on a linebacker or safety.

Perez' overall toughness and compete level are what we really like about him. He has plenty of size and strength but he plays the game with the nastiness you have to have to excel in college.
