On March 8, 2016 five-star athlete Demetris Robertson signed financial aid agreement papers with California, and in the days afterward, signed the same papers with Georgia Tech and Georgia. His brother Carlos said that Decision Day is fast approaching for the Savannah (Ga.) Savannah Christian Prep star.
"He's real close to making a decision," said his brother and guardian Carlos Robertson. "California is a major player."
How close? Between seven and 10 days, Carlos Robertson said.
"California is a school that he's highly interested in," Carlos Robertson said. "They are a major player."
While the Bears have not openly talked about Robertson, while Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart has been openly lobbying for the local star to stay close to home. What Cal has been doing, though, is maintaining very close, very consistent contact.
"Coach [Jacob] Peeler, he stays in contact with us, and he's very consistent, and he's done a lot," Carlos Robertson said. "Coach [Sonny] Dykes, he'll contact him through twitter. They've been real consistent, and real often. They've been coming on strong."
